Red Dog has resurrected Capolan swaps

Red Dog hosts the most wonderful swaps.   She somehow gets people to try harder to turn in quality work and I always enjoy getting a swap back from her!  Anyway, she had been running a Capolan swap for quite a few years and then had to take a break.  Well, she has brought it back, so email her if you would like to participate!

Hello Travelers...

Once again, Capolan is pulling up stakes and traveling to sites (and sights) unknown. If you are a sojourner looking for a group of like minded artists to exchange your wonders with, come along with us. Now being accepted are art forms of all kinds, from dolls, fetishes, artistamps, collages, structures to the as yet unimagined. Send in your works in multiples of 5 (plus one piece for the Caravan Museum at  Redquarters) and receive back as many. Join when you can, pass when you must. Also required, a Priority postage stamp and a self-addressed label. For those joining from other kingdoms (out of US) include enough postage as was required in YOUR mailing to Redquarters. Send in your works by the last day of each month. Inquire privately for mailing info

Frida Chunky Book is Done!

I haven't posted in 3 weeks because I have been really busy with the swap!  It is done and came out great!  I am so impressed with everyone's work in it!  Here are a couple of teasers!  Eventually I hope to copy all the pages and put them up at my website!  40 participants adds up to lots of packages!

 

Inchies

It seems that many of the yahoo groups are getting interested in "inchies" - those one inch by one inch square collages are a special challenge due to their small size.  I participated in one where we exchanged 100 for 100. Now what to do with all those squares?  I've seen some used on greeting cards as a focus tile.  I decided to put mine on the lid of a paper mache box so they can be seen altogether.  The box makes a great place to store special cards or momentos.

Wide Open by Randi Feuerhelm-Watts

I love Randi's journals and had the pleasure of seeing them in person one day when she visited at my home.  Randi encourages experimentation and has a wonderful ability to combine texture and color.  This little set is a small book with thoughts on creativity and art combined with a set of cards with artistic exercises on the back.  She encourages artists to let go of perfection and find their own voices.  Lots of color examples here to inspire you.  This definitely goes in my favorites pile!

Vickie "Mack" is back!

I just received a note from Vickie of Bmuse! 

Vickie expects to make a full recovery, although she will need to rest more than usual in the next few months.  Her family and friends are helping her when she needs rest.  She reports that  B-muse.com is fully functioning, mostly due to her wonderful Significant Other for keeping things going while she was hospitalized.  She wants to warn anyone who has a history of severe headaches to get an MRI--don't let the Drs. shine it on as just headaches. Headaches are the only symptom of a ruptured cerebral aneurysm, until you have seizure at which point you have almost NO time to fix it.
